For CPA & accounting firms

Season capacity, in your software, to your review standard.

Between January and April you need people you cannot justify employing in July. We prepare returns in the system your firm already runs, to the standard your reviewers already expect, and hand them back review-ready.

Why firms call us

Usually in November. Sometimes in February.

You cannot hire enough qualified preparers for a four-month peak, and the ones you find want twelve months of work.

Partners are preparing returns in March instead of reviewing them, and nobody is talking to clients.

Extension volume has become its own season and September now looks like April used to.

Turnaround slipped last season and you lost clients over it.

You are turning away work in January that you would happily take if the capacity existed.

Bookkeeping cleanups are eating preparer hours before a return can even be started.

What we prepare

Returns, workpapers and the cleanup underneath them.

We work in CCH Axcess, UltraTax and Drake — your licence, your instance, your templates and your review notes.

Individual — 1040

Including multi-state, Schedules C, D and E, rental portfolios, and the K-1s that arrive at the last possible moment.

Partnership — 1065

Preparation, allocations, capital account maintenance and K-1 production.

Corporate — 1120 and 1120-S

Federal and state, book-to-tax reconciliation, and supporting schedules.

Sales and use tax

Multi-jurisdiction registration support, return preparation and filing calendars.

Bookkeeping and cleanup

Getting a client’s books to a state where a return can actually be prepared from them, rather than around them.

Workpaper support

Tie-outs, schedules and documentation prepared to your firm’s methodology, year-round.

How it starts

A pilot batch, before season, not during it.

The worst time to test a new capacity partner is the second week of March. We would rather prove the work in a quiet month.

Step 01

Scoping call

Your software, your review process, your volumes, and what your last season actually looked like.

Step 02

Pilot batch

A small set of real returns. Your reviewer marks them up exactly as they would an in-house preparer’s work.

Step 03

Calibration

We work the review notes back into our checklists so the same comment does not come back twice.

Step 04

Season

Agreed volumes and turnaround, scaling to 12–15 preparers across the March and April peaks.

Common questions

What firm partners ask first.

Who signs the return?

Your firm does. We prepare; your people review and sign. The engagement, the client relationship and the professional responsibility stay entirely with you.

Do we need client consent to use you?

Yes. Under IRC §7216 and the related regulations, a US preparer disclosing client tax return information to a preparer located outside the United States needs the client’s written consent, obtained in the prescribed form before the disclosure.

This is routine and firms handle it as part of their engagement letter process every year — but it is your obligation, not ours, and it needs to be in place before work starts. Your own counsel or professional body is the right source on the specific wording.

Whose software do you work in?

Yours. We are hands-on in CCH Axcess, UltraTax and Drake, and we work in your instance under your access controls so nothing has to be exported, re-keyed or reconciled afterwards.

Will we get the same preparers next season?

That is the intention, and it is worth a great deal — a preparer who saw a client’s return last year is materially faster this year. We staff for continuity, though we will not promise a specific individual eighteen months out.

How is our client data handled?

Work is performed in your systems, under your access controls, on a least-privilege basis — nothing is exported or stored outside the environment you control. We are happy to walk through the specific safeguards on a call.

Start here

Run a pilot batch before season.

Thirty minutes on your software, your volumes and your review standard. Then a small batch of real returns, so you are not testing us in March.
