For growing US businesses

A finance function, before you can justify hiring one.

Most growing companies do not need a controller yet. They need the books closed on time, the bills paid, and a monthly view of what is actually happening — done by people who have run finance for much larger organisations.

Why businesses call us

Usually when the workaround stops working.

The books are being kept by a founder, an office manager, or whoever had time — and it is nobody’s actual job.

The close happens weeks late, so by the time you see a number it is too old to act on.

Your CPA charges a cleanup fee every year for the same problems.

You cannot tell which products, sites or customers are actually making money.

A lender, investor or acquirer has started asking for monthly reporting you cannot produce.

You are about to hire a full-time accountant, and you are not sure that is the right first hire.

What we run

The whole cycle, or the parts you are missing.

In QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or whatever you already use. You do not have to move systems to work with us.

Bookkeeping

Categorisation, bank and credit card reconciliations, and a general ledger that stays clean between closes.

Accounts payable

Bill capture, approval routing, payment runs and vendor queries, on a schedule you set.

Accounts receivable

Invoicing, application of receipts, ageing and collections follow-up before a balance becomes a problem.

Month-end close

Accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and a close finished by an agreed working day — every month, not most months.

Inventory and cost

Inventory tracking, cost of goods and margin by product or site, for businesses where that is the number that matters.

Reporting and FP&A

A monthly pack you can actually read: P&L, balance sheet, cash, and the handful of measures specific to your business.

Compliance filings

Federal and state filings, sales and use tax returns, and the 1099s nobody remembers until January.

Working with your CPA

Year-end schedules and workpapers handed over in a form your CPA can use, which usually reduces what they bill you.

How onboarding works

Four weeks, typically, to a clean first close.

Most of the work is at the start. Once the process is set, the monthly rhythm is quiet by design.

Step 01

Scoping call

What you sell, what you use, who currently does what, and what you are not getting today.

Step 02

Books review

We look at the current state and tell you plainly what needs cleaning up before a reliable close is possible.

Step 03

First close

We run a month end to end, agree the reporting pack format, and fix what the first close exposes.

Step 04

Monthly rhythm

A named accountant, a fixed close date, and a reporting pack that arrives without you chasing it.

Common questions

What owners ask first.

Do we have to leave QuickBooks?

No. We work in what you already run. If your system is genuinely holding you back we will say so, but changing it is a decision for you and not a condition of working with us.

Does this replace our CPA?

No, and it should not. We keep the books and produce the reporting; your CPA advises and files. In practice we make their job cheaper by handing over year-end schedules that are already in order.

Is this cheaper than hiring someone?

Usually, and more importantly it does not commit you to a full-time salary before the workload justifies one. You also get a team rather than a single person, which means the close still happens when someone is on leave. Pricing depends on scope — we talk specifics on the scoping call rather than guess at a number that will not fit your business.

How do we send you things?

You give us access to the systems you already use. Bills, statements and documents flow through the same tools you use today — there is no new portal for your team to learn.

What if we grow out of this?

Then we scale with you, or help you hire and hand over. Our larger clients are companies with their own finance teams — moving up is a normal path, not the end of the relationship.
